A learning experience: The first newsletter from www.experiential-learning-games.com was launched on 31st January, 2007. I had no idea about how to write a newsletter, so I dragged my feet quite a bit about it. However, the number of subscribers to my newsletter announcement kept growing, and I decided that I had to get down to doing it.
I need not have worried. As I got down to writing it on the SBI template, I realised that it was not so difficult after all. In fact I have been able to write the next newsletter too.

Growing

Longtime no write.

It's been a longtime since I blogged. Important and significant things have happened since then. I reached the traffic rate of 50 visitors per day to my website http://www.experiential-learning-games.com. I added google adsense to my site and within 18 days I had made $88 from my site. I am really excited now about this website. The grace of the Lord Jesus is on it and SBI's winning formula of 'content-traffic-presell-monetize' especially for an infopreneur like me really works.

Wikis - a powerful tool to share your knowledge

Among the many new things that I learnt through my experience of building a content website through SBI, is the discovery of the two wiki sites, wikipedia and wikihow.

I had no idea that I could add my piece to the world's knowledge bank until I came to know about these two wikis. I discovered 'wiki' is an acronym for 'what I know is'. Since then I have become a great fan of the wikis.

What a pleasure it is to build your site with SBI?! Not only do I get to see my site grow as I build more pages to it. I am also learning daily about building a successful e-commerce site.

I have learnt to make google sitemaps for my site and have it verified by google. Google then generates stats for my site which gives me great information on the top queries that have resulted in my site being viewed and the rankings of these pages.

I have also learnt about how to find the rate for advertising on my site, via the excellent sitesell forums. Anyone can get this information on http://www.webconfs.com/link-value.php . It is invaluable.

I am excited about continuing to build my site and more pages to it. With the favor of the Lord Jesus shining on me it will not be long before I start to make money on my site.

Self-esteem games on my site

Self-esteem is the image of yourself that determines the confidence with which you deal with a situation. The more positive the self-image the more effective your ability to deal with situations especially adversity. How is self-image developed? The affirmations that a human being receives from childhood builds her self-image. How many of us do affirm each other? We are very stingy with our appreciation, believing that if we appreciated somebody else we would somehow reduce our own importance. This way of building self-esteem is an inverted method, although absolutely crucial for young children. Self affirmation is actually the only method that sustains self-esteem. The games mentioned on the Self-esteem games page of my site have both methods of self-affirmations. I am so excited that I am creating a site on experiential learning through games and while doing so I am experiencing learning with lots of fun.
